Do you have significant experience in a Financial Services environment, alongside the ability to lead and motivate a team?

Are you a proactive individual who takes personal responsibility for making things happen and achieving results?

Are you highly analytical with a keen eye for detail and someone who can interpret numerical, graphical, verbal and written information effectively to your customers?

If so, we have a role for you….
We are looking for a Finance Operations Manager to join us at EMSOU on a full time, permanent basis.

The East Midlands Specialist Operations Unit (EMSOU) is one of the largest collaborative policing units in the country, delivering specialist capabilities on behalf of the five East Midlands police forces. EMSOU focuses on intelligence gathering and the disruption and investigation of Serious and Organised Crime (SOC). You will contribute to the success of EMSOU by supervising and leading the Finance Operations Team to ensure efficient delivery of a high-quality customer service, ensuring compliance with both deadlines and audit requirements within the team.

As the Finance Operations Manager, you will provide a fundamental and integral service in a role that offers both breath and variety in this unique setting. Alongside managing your team of two Finance Assistants, you will take ownership of the exchequer services; managing financial transactions both in and out of the organisation. You will also take the lead in managing and co-ordinating overtime, expenses and allowances, taking responsibility for processing claims correctly and in accordance with key deadlines and timescales. Beyond this, you will have the opportunity to support senior leaders with their budgets and also provide financial project support to the NPCC Cyber Crime Programme Team.

Combined with your experience within Financial Services, you will have the ability to lead and motivate a team, ensuring deadlines are met and that the team continuously delivers a high-quality service. You’ll be a proficient user of Microsoft Office and have excellent analytical skills alongside a keen eye for detail and high level of accuracy. Drawing from your previous experience, you will be able to pro-actively respond to financial issues as they arise, in addition to analysing and interpreting complex data and information to compile financial reports. A strong communicator, you will be confident in communicating effectively at all levels, liaising with both internal and external customers and agencies.
