Leicestershire Police are looking for a Police Dog Instructor to join our Specialist Operations Training team. The role involves ensuring the development, design and delivery of all aspects of dog training relative to the contents of the ACPO Manual of Guidance for Police Dog Training. The role is full time, and permanent.

The Specialist Operations Training (SOT) team delivers dog training across the region for Northants, Lincolnshire & Leicestershire.

The successful candidate must be an experienced Accredited NPCC Dog Training Instructor (General Purpose Police Dog / Specialist Search), and have an excellent working knowledge of the Animal Welfare Act, Dangerous Dogs Act and experience of working as an operational dog training.

The ability to work unsupervised, with effective communication, decision making and problem solving skills are all essential for the role.

Please note, there is a requirement to have First Aid and Health & Safety qualifications/equivalent experience/working knowledge. Due to the nature of the role, there is also a necessity to be physically fit. A Full UK driving licence must be held, with a willingness to travel, and work flexibly in terms of location when needed.
