Design the future of learning and development for the Police Forces across the East Midlands.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Designer, to join us on a full time, permanent basis, as part of our regional team.

Salary Scale: £34,287 - £36,171 per annum plus an annual market supplement of £5,000 has been agreed for this position; further salary details are contained within the job description. Please note that market supplements are reviewed annually.

You will play a vital role in the development of the East Midlands Specialist Learning and Development Hub (EMSLDH) as you work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to create, develop and improve blended learning solutions, using 365 applications. This is a great opportunity to use your autonomy and initiative to make decisions, whilst working proactively to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.

Adopting a continuous improvement approach, you will support our ‘digital by design’ concept with an aim of improving service delivery across the region.

Working closely with Subject Matter Experts, you will develop learning intervention and associated design solutions and digital resources, whilst considering preferred learning styles to optimise audience engagement. This will include using your coding skills to create and develop both internal and external websites, in line with the web development cycle.

Your creativity and visual approach will be essential to ensure we design innovative learning and development interventions across a variety of channels, including web-based learning, mobile phone apps, instructional videos, interactive PDFs, interactive e-learning and webinars. You will address and satisfy agreed design briefs and specifications to the highest standards, from storyboarding to final production and everything in between.

You must have technical knowledge and experience of the following:
• Microsoft 365 products using SharePoint, Power Automate, PowerApps, Forms, software development tools and techniques
• Web Design, using Java Script, PHP, HTML5, and fully understand the web development cycle
• Articulate

Applications will be considered from across the East Midlands however, you must be prepared to travel to various sites across the region as required. Employees will be offered a base force location, based on their home address. Travel expenses including mileage will then be paid in line with the Casual Car User allowance, for travel to other sites across the region.
