Use your experience of commissioning and managing contracts to deliver an effective service that can make a positive impact to the lives of the residents across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Leicestershire are looking for two Commissioning and Contracts Officers, on a full-time, permanent basis.

At the OPCC, we aim to improve accountability, transparency and visibility over the finances and governance of the Police. We ensure the policing needs of our communities are met, enhancing public confidence in the system. Communities are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to reducing the impact of crime with a key focus on prevention.

As a Commissioning and Contracts Officer, you will support the development and delivery of the Commissioning Framework, to achieve the strategic priorities as set out in the Police and Crime Plan.

Working alongside the procurement and legal services departments, you will be responsible for facilitating procurement and contractual negotiations, ensuring that resources are allocated to providers that closely meet our priorities, taking into account relevant budgets.

As someone that is both competent and confident in working with financial and other performance-based information, you will implement a transparent performance framework for commissioned services and arrangements, monitoring effectiveness and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

This is a multi-agency partnership environment, which will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners and stakeholders at a local, regional and national level. Using your influencing and negotiating skills, you'll ensure that all relevant parties are engaged in promoting existing, and developing new solutions to the priorities set out within the Police and Crime Plan.

You must be flexible and hold a full, UK driving licence due to the requirement to travel and work at alternative locations within the Force area, as needed.

As part of your application, please provide a CV and Personal Suitability Statement of 1000 words, stating how you meet the essential/desirable criteria as listed in the job description and why you want to join our mission to make Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland safer for everyone who lives or works here.
