Are you a creative thinker with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with all sectors and generations within the community?

Do you have the ability to exploit a variety of platforms, including social media and engagement tools to deliver effective community engagement?

Can you adapt to an ever changing environment?

Can you evaluate engagement events and responses to inform strategic planning and policy?

If so, then this role is for you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Police & Crime Commissioner’s Office, to take our community engagement to the next level on a full time, permanent basis.

Working with the Head of Community Engagement and Partnerships, you will accompany, support and represent the Police and Crime Commissioner, including the wider office of the OPCC by delivering our engagement strategy and annual delivery plan across Leicestershire.

As the first point of contact, you will facilitate local and community engagement communications activity, liaising with internal stakeholders and key partners with the aim of engaging all sectors of the community and ensuring that all events are widely publicised. You will utilise a breadth of different channels including social media and local community-based forums so that we can maximise our levels of engagement, accessing a wide variety of people while increasing our digital footprint

You will use your previous experience of researching, publicising and planning, to develop and coordinate appropriate engagement activity across the region, delivering effective campaigns with minimal supervision to meet deadlines. You will have experience of data manipulation which will help you to evaluate engagement data and the success of such events and activities, providing recommendations for ongoing improvements which will then inform the priorities of the Police and Crime Plan including policy and strategy development.

An excellent communicator, you will use your personal communication skills to build productive relationships with colleagues and partners whilst also building community confidence by providing feedback on issues raised and the action taken.

Please note, as part of your role, you will be required to work outside of office hours to support and deliver engagement communications activity.
