Working for the Police and Crime Commissioner is a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional team member to make a real difference to the communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We support the Police and Crime Commissioner in holding the police to account and working with the public so that we can provide an effective, robust and professional service to the community.

We want you to join our team to help us take dynamic action, delivering the traditions of British Policing in a modern, innovative and inspirational way with people at the heart of what we do. We want to capitalise on your life experiences, capture your ideas, unleash your talent, harness your energy and support you with your career aspirations in terms of the skills and experiences gained while working here.

We are looking to recruit a Research Officer on a 37 hours per week permanent basis to join us to help provide key insights into the performance of our team.

You will be part of a small team undertaking research in support of the development of policy, reports and briefing notes to the Police and Crime Commissioner and their office, particularly in relation to the contents of the Police and Crime Plan.

Using your communication skills, you’ll be dealing with people at all levels across the organisation, communicating confidently and asking challenging questions.

You will apply intelligence data to produce objective, comprehensive, clear and timely analysis of force performance reports to support the Police Crime Commissioner in their duty of holding the Chief Constable to account for the performance of the Force.

Your knowledge and IT skills will help you to produce reports and presentations in styles suitable for the audience to be addressed.

You will monitor and analyse the political and policy environment and identify opportunities and threats for the delivery of the Police and Crime Plan.

You will need to be flexible, and able to travel and work in alternative locations within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We face daily challenges to keep our communities safe but every day we have an impact.

This is a politically restricted role.
