We are looking for a talented and experienced Communications and Campaigns Officer to join us in our mission to prevent and reduce serious violence across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, as part of the Violence Reduction Network (VRN).

The VRN is one of 20 Home Office funded Violence Reduction Units (VRU) across England and Wales, tasked with working with a wide range of partners and communities to tackle the causes of serious violence through designing and delivering a range of strategies and interventions.

As part of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) and governed by the local Strategic Partnership Board, the VRN enjoys a high level of commitment and support from local partners, as we work collaboratively to prevent serious violence locally.

As the Communications and Campaigns Officer, you will play a vital role in the VRN’s multi-disciplinary central team, through designing and delivering communications strategies, plans and campaigns which will extend the reach and influence of the Network and help build community involvement and public confidence in the VRN’s work.

This will include responsibility for compiling press releases, newsletters, publicity material and use of a range of social media platforms including the VRN’s website and our resources website, Live Safe. You will advise and support the VRN Director and their team to ensure they embed effective communications across the entire VRN programme.

As a creative thinker with excellent communication skills, you will identify and pursue multiple ways to effectively engage and inform a wide range of local and national stakeholders including the diverse communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

As partnership is at the heart of the VRN’s work, you will be exceptional at building and sustaining effective working relationship including with the VRN’s campaign lead, other communication teams (including the OPCC’s) and the national VRU communications network.
