To undertake criminal and misconduct investigations relating to members of police staff and Police Officers. To undertake investigations into public complaints and other matters as directed by the appropriate authority or line management. To prepare investigation reports and manage processes leading to misconduct meetings and hearing. To complete referrals to internal and external agencies including the IPCC and CPS.

Operational: To undertake criminal and misconduct investigations relating to members of police staff and Police Officers.

To undertake investigations into public complaints and other matters at the direction of the appropriate authority.

To complete referrals to internal and external agencies including the IPCC and CPS.

Disciplinary Proceedings: To assist with the preparation and presentation of misconduct proceedings in line with appropriate guidelines.

Multi-agency / Partnership working: To liaise with the Police and Crime Commissioners office and Crown Prosecution Service and other agencies regarding investigations and other relevant issues, including the IPCC.

Quality / Attention to Detail: To identify and progress quality issues arising from investigations.

To identify and progress learning issues and best practice arising from investigations.

To challenge existing processes and propose improvements and areas for development.

General: To undertake other duties commensurate with the post as may be required for the safe and effective performance of the job.
