Covert Authorities Bureau Manager

The role is to ensure the integrity of the RIPA application process in respect of Surveillance, Property Interference, CHIS (including undercover) and OPT (Prison) authorisations. The post holder is responsible for the creation and maintenance of effective quality assurance regimes, the robust scrutiny of RIPA applications, the challenging of improper practices and the development of good practice together with the provision of guidance in the specialised arena of covert policing.
