Does the thought of transferring into another police force appeal to you?

Leicestershire Police is currently recruiting experienced detectives to work across our Crime and Intelligence Department and could offer you just the move you are looking for.

As a detective constable in the department, you will take responsibility for the whole investigation process, from initial report stage, planning the investigation strategy to court hearing and beyond. We also have vacancies in our Rape Investigation Unit and Child Abuse Investigation Unit for candidates with the appropriate experience.

To be successful you must have completed the initial Crime Investigators Development Programme (ICIDP) or equivalent (CID Foundation Course and be accredited investigators at PIP level 2.

At Leicestershire Police we pride ourselves on recognising people with real potential. That’s why we offer our officers so much support, motivation and training because, as they improve, so will our force. Whether you want to specialise in a particular area of policing, or progress through the ranks, our experienced leaders can help you to reach your goals. All you have to do is bring us your talent, dedication and enthusiasm and we’ll welcome you to the team.

If you have an excellent attendance record, are high performing and are looking for a new challenge, then this could be the place for you. In return, as a police officer transferee, you will earn between £20,370 and £39,150 a year and will retain:

• Your previous service and current levels of pay (excluding force specific benefits i.e. London Weighting).

• Annual leave entitlement, as long as there is no break in service.

• Your current pension arrangements.

Leicestershire Police is committed to improving the diversity of our workforce to better reflect the communities we serve. We welcome applications from all minority groups and individuals who identify with one or more of the protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010. All appointments will be made on merit.

We are nationally and internationally recognised as a hub of best practice for our PLOD team’s work with deaf and hard of hearing people. This year we have also been awarded our highest ever ranking in Stonewall’s Top 100 Employers, coming in at number 17 in the definitive list of the best places to work in the UK for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender staff.
