The digital investigation world is rapidly evolving, and our Digital Forensics Team are at the forefront of one of the fastest changing areas of the Force. Due to the expansion of the team, we have the opportunity for multiple Digital Evidence Recovery Officers to join us.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has an interest in digital investigations and forensics, as relevant training and support will be provided to enable you to become effective within role.

As a Digital Evidence Recovery Officer, you will use forensic tools and applications to identify and recover evidence held on mobile telephones, computer hard drives, and all manner of digital media, which has been seized during criminal investigations. This will include offering advice and support to all frontline officers and staff on the safe seizure and handling of all types of digital storage devices and reviewing illegal images and videos, grading them according to current legislation.

You will producing detailed reports of evidence and intelligence recovered, which you will present in case conferences or as a Professional Witness at court, supporting the prosecution of suspects and offenders.

In addition to the support of internal and external training from day one, you’ll be joining a supportive and friendly team, where teamwork is paramount.

At times you may be exposed to highly sensitive and distressing content and images as part of this role. We have an expansive wellbeing and counselling service along with a range of support networks, as well as role specific support such as an annual mandatory support session and access to the unit’s well-being room.

Please note that you may be required to provide out of hours service from time to time, for critical cases.

Due to the nature of security checks undertaken, applicants must have 5 years continuous residency in the UK up to the date of the application.
