Do you have experience and a passion for working with dogs?

Derbyshire Constabulary are looking to recruit two Dog Kennel Assistants to support the Dog Section Unit, based at Force Headquarters in providing care and welfare to their police dogs working part-time, 18.5 hours per week, on a job share rota basis.

As a Kennel Assistant you will undertake general kennel duties including exercising, feeding, bathing and grooming of our police dogs. You must be physically fit and be able to appropriately handle and exercise dogs including large breed dogs in all types of weather.

You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness of the kennels and associated areas and equipment, ensuring that stocks of food and general equipment are maintained through accurate stock recording and ordering and the distribution of these to Handlers.

You will also undertake driving duties, taking Dog Section vehicles for delivery, collection and the transportation of dogs requiring veterinary treatment.
