The Communications section forms part of the Information Technology Department and provides wide ranging service management and support functions to assist with the operational policing needs of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The Information Technology Department is looking for a Communications Support Analyst.

The duties for this diverse role include providing a technical support resource during planned events and emergency incidents, ensuring the availability of systems, equipment and services in line with required levels and advising on the use and technical aspects of all IT equipment and services. The role does require ‘on call’ responsibilities to be performed on a rota basis which is currently one week in five.

To include the configuration of IT and communication services and equipment in line with operational and support criteria, ensuring prescribed security methods and protocols are followed. Perform first line support on IT and communication devices maintaining published service level agreements, providing a fault handling service liaising and escalating to third party suppliers when appropriate.

To maintain accurate asset management and configuration records to agreed formats and standards.

With an ability to work as a part of a team but with an aptitude to use your initiative and be creative when required, you will have a methodical manner when approaching tasks and problem solving reflecting a high standard of accuracy and detail.

You will possess a GCSE in Mathematics grade C or equivalent and be experienced in using Microsoft applications.

You will hold a current driving licence.
