An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Mechanical and Electrical Compliance Manager, on a full time, permanent basis.

You’ll be joining a modern, cutting-edge police force as we invest into our assets, ensuring our estates are fit for the future and that we can maintain a service to the people of Derbyshire, as part of our combined Force and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service estates and Limited Liability Partnership.

You will provide compliance support and advice on behalf of the Assets Team supporting both Derbyshire Constabulary and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, ensuring our electrical and mechanical systems operate efficiently to legislative and best practice standards.

You’ll have accountability for delivering rigorous and effective oversight of all mechanical and electrical engineering installations and infrastructure, developing and delivering compliance action plans and projects. This will include taking the lead in all matters relating to ‘Risk’ and ensuring that all relevant maintenance contracts are current, effective, and responsive to minimise the disruption to service delivery.

Under the direction of the Property Maintenance Manager and Senior Surveyors, you will also provide input into design requirements and supervise electrical and mechanical aspects of building and maintenance projects covering refurbishment of offices, introduction of new systems and installations to new build stations, including at our shared Headquarters with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.

As well as experience in a role managing compliance and overseeing electrical engineering work, you will need to hold a relevant HNC qualification and have full membership of IEEE, or equivalent, and participate in a CPD programme.

To enhance your reward package, we offer a competitive pension as part of the Local Government Pension Scheme, a minimum of 26 days annual leave entitlement increasing after 5 years’ service (plus Bank Holidays), an essential car allowance, overtime, on call and unsociable hours allowances, access to Boost employee discounts and the Blue Light Card, and free onsite parking.

We also appreciate the importance of work life balance and welfare which is why we offer a great supportive working environment with access to an Employee Assistance Package, flexi-time within core hours, childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme, eyecare scheme and maternity/parental leave schemes.

Salary Scale: £35,307 - £42,597 however, salary is negotiable for the right candidate, based on their skills and experience.

As part of your application, you must provide both a CV and Supporting Statement, stating how you meet the essential/desirable criteria as listed in the job description.
