The East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) provides support in the fight against serious and organised crime to the five Forces in the East Midlands region (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire).
The primary aim of the Regional Review Team is to assist Senior Investigating Officers by giving an independent review and examination of material gathered by an investigation, on behalf of Regional ACPO.
The Regional Review Manager will be responsible for the management and welfare of a team of review officers. Taking the lead on ensuring that the major case/incident subject of review complies to set standards, is conducted with both integrity and objectivity, has not overlooked investigative opportunities and identifies good practice. Identifying and advising on best practice in the investigation process.
Essential Criteria - it is essential that applicants can demonstrate all the criteria in the role description including:-
• Are qualified to A Level Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and/or have demonstrable work experience in the use of English language to this standard.
• To have successfully completed HOLMES Management Training to Supervisor Level.
• To attend and pass an accredited Review Officers course within 2 years.
• Recent demonstrable experience of working in crime investigation environment using relevant criminal legislation, force and national guidelines.
• Demonstrate the ability to assimilate, summarise and critically review information and probe issues that arise.
• Able to supervise staff in an efficient and effective manager.
• Have a good working knowledge of MIRSAP and Major Incident room procedures.
