Are you an experienced Executive Assistant who understands the importance of working within a confidential environment?

Derbyshire Constabulary is seeking to appoint a highly organised and motivated individual to support the Chief Officer Team.

This full time permanent position is based at our Headquarters in Ripley working 37hrs per week.  The role benefits from an agile working pattern with the requirement to work in the office three days per week, to include Thursdays and Fridays.

What will the role involve?

  • Policing is privileged to serve its communities 24hrs a day, 365 days a year and as such, the spectrum is extremely broad.  The Executive Assistant will primarily support the Deputy Chief Constable in their portfolio with the full suite of core administration, diary management, secretarial support, analysis and resolution of queries and issues, whilst offering an exceptional level of support to the Chief Officer Team as a whole.
  • No two days will be the same. You'll need to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities often at extremely short notice, ever-changing diaries, meetings and appointments whilst taking complete ownership of pieces of work/reports.   You will need to be able to work independently and use your initiative.  There will be occasions where it is necessary to work outside standard hours and potentially from different locations.
  • You will need excellent customer service skills to liaise daily with colleagues across the organisation, external partners, regional and national organisations as well as members of the public both in person and through other means of contact.  You will build strong relationships and become a vital and valued point of contact.

Who are we looking for?

  • An experienced Executive Assistant with a background supporting at a strategic level who takes pride in delivering to the highest standards and is resilient in the face of challenging situations.
  • You will use your initiative and judgement from your knowledge of key issues at a local and national level, to determine the necessary action to take, and respond with sensitivity and understanding.
  • You will have extensive experience of working well under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst still working with precision and a high level of attention to detail.  You will be adept at managing competing priorities.
  • With superb interpersonal and communication skills, you will be at ease working as part of a team and able to liaise with people at all levels.  You will work quickly and efficiently with minimal direction, remaining level-headed and organised in a busy, fast paced environment.

Scale F, currently £24,552 to £30,375 per annum. For the right candidate, the starting point would be adjusted in line with your experience.

We invest in developing our team as well as in their welfare, with an expansive wellbeing and counselling service along with a range of support networks.

Key work/life benefits are available including a competitive pension, generous annual leave, and both flexitime and hybrid agile working where possible.
