To train Police Officers, Support Staff and others as directed, in the theory and practice of Basic, Standard and Advanced Driving, to the standards and requirements of Derbyshire Police, and in accordance with Force and ACPO policies and guidelines, and with reference to the Highway Code and the “Roadcraft” Driving manual. To assess and test students, to deliver Fast Roads Training and to deliver VIP/Defensive driving courses.
Applicants will be asked to attend a Selection Event (date tbc) to assess their driving skills, instructional ability and knowledge, based upon the Police system of driving as described in the Police driver handbook “Roadcraft”, the DVSA Highway Code, and the College of Policing publication, Roads Policing and Police Driving Learning Programme (Aug 2016), RP&PDLP. Applicants successful in the assessment process will be invited for interview.
