The W&M team is responsible for but not limited to (support of): Cloud based Services (AaaS), End User devices, Client Operating Systems, Email clients, Unified Communications clients, Virtual and rich client software applications, Mobile technologies and Software asset management. The team resolves complex issues and provides installations, moves, additions, changes and de-installations. Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quickly resolving problems. The team focuses on managing mobile devices and PCs in an innovative way that enables the force and eases the burden on IS - including services for Windows 10, Enterprise Mobility Management, cloud and virtualized desktop applications.

The post holder is responsible for dealing with all types of IT Support issues in the area of Workplace & Mobility (W&M). The role is also involved with application support and maintenance, covering 'core' & policing line of business software applications. The role also includes image management, client GPO administration, scripting, software deployment and system centre administration.

All members of the team have a responsibility to display a willingness and commitment to working flexibly within their role. They should work co-operatively with colleagues both within the immediate team, within the wider Information Services Department and indeed the Force as a whole to ensure that all calls are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.

To ensure that all Incidents, Problems, Changes and Requests are handled to agreed procedures.
To provide quality IS support to all areas of the Force by providing detailed personal advice and guidance to all levels of users in the organisation.

The post holder applies advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues, and is regarded as a subject matter expert across specific technology areas. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems / projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of multiple factors.

The post holder exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. The post holder can act as IS lead and /or provides expertise to project teams and may participate in cross functional initiatives.

The post holder may provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced employees. They act as a IS Analyst providing input and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies, frequently represents the force to external suppliers and partners.
