Derbyshire Constabulary is an exciting place to work at the moment. Our progressive leadership team have launched an organisational change programme to drive improvement by tapping into the knowledge, commitment and innovation of our teams and working closely with our friends and colleagues in Derbyshire Fire and Rescue.

Our Information Services team are supporting a number of change projects and are looking for a recent IT graduate to support some of the following activities:

• A review of our innovation platform to identify future enhancements and research solutions
• Supplier Liaison, producing clear road maps for all critical applications reviewing underlying technologies ensuring supplier plans are aligned to technology road maps
• Horizon scanning and market testing, visits to suppliers to scope, gap analysis of new leading edge replacements for current solutions. Produce outline costs for adoption of new technologies. (Continual Review)
• Technology Assessment, identify exciting and innovative new technologies and how they could be implemented bringing automation and efficiencies to policing.

To this end we are seeking someone with a ‘can – do’ attitude. Someone who is inquisitive, can look at problems and situations from a different perspective, will ask questions we wouldn’t traditionally ask and hopefully find different answers and solutions.

On the whole we are a friendly, sociable bunch, so you’ll need to be someone who is great at building relationships and is comfortable getting out and about talking to people.

We aren’t looking for an academic purist. We want to find solutions we can implement, so are keen to find a good listener who understand the implications of change and as such can balance solid research and theory with the need to deliver practical improvements.

If you join us you’ll be based at our Headquarters in Ripley – ideally starting in September.
