Come and play a unique part to help us to keep Derbyshire as one of the safest places to live and work in England!

We are looking for a Civil Contingencies Manager who can lead the way by providing professional support and advice to the force on matters covering Emergency Planning, Business Continuity Planning and planning for VIP Visits.

As a confident decision maker with experience of civil contingencies and emergency planning, you’ll be a vital part of how we respond to major incidents, emergencies and events, working collaboratively with other colleagues, agencies, governments and groups.

Your ability to assess complex information quickly and work under pressure will be crucial in an emergency, as well as your ability to effectively communicate your plans, take effective action and motivate others to ensure the best resolution is achieved.

Using your skills to negotiate and influence, you will support the Chief Constable to represent the force at the Local Resilience Forum (LRF), keeping a continued focus on Derbyshire’s resilience to threats and hazards that are set out in the National Security and Risk Assessments.

When you are not responding to emergencies you will be preparing our Police Emergency and Contingency Plans, making sure that each department has a specific plan in place, ensuring it’s up to date and fit for purpose. This includes driving internal capability by delivering training sessions and exercise events.

As part of your application, please provide both a CV and Supporting Statement, stating how you meet the essential/desirable criteria as listed in the job description.

Please note that as part of MV/SC vetting requirements, you must have 5 years continuous UK residency.

This opportunity is closed to applications.
