An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Building Services Engineer (Electrical), on a full time, permanent basis.
You’ll be joining a modern, cutting-edge police force as we invest into our assets, ensuring our estates are fit for the future and that we can maintain a service to the people of Derbyshire.
You will support the Assets Team to co-ordinate and deliver all electrical planned preventative maintenance, reactive and minor works for our combined Force and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service estates and as part of the Limited Liability Partnership.
Using your experience of overseeing electrical engineering work, you’ll ensure that our electrical systems operate efficiently to legislative and best practice standards. Guiding and supporting the Assets Team on continued compliance on all aspects of the installation and maintenance, you will take responsibility for making sure that all relevant maintenance contracts are current, effective and responsive to minimise the disruption to service delivery.
Using your previous experience of preparing technical reports and specifications, you will produce accurate reports to support management, maintenance and development projects.
As we invest into our future, you’ll also have the opportunity to put your ideas into future design requirements of new building and maintenance projects and will play a key part in supervising all electrical aspects of work carried out.
Salary is negotiable up to a maximum of £42,000 for the right candidate, based on their skills and experience.
As part of your application, you must provide both a CV and Supporting Statement, stating how you meet the essential/desirable criteria as listed in the job description.
Additional Information about the role:
Please note that as part of MV/SC vetting requirements, you must have 5 years continuous UK residency.
To enhance your reward package, we offer a competitive pension as part of the Local Government Pension Scheme, 27 days annual leave entitlement increasing after 5 years’ service (plus Bank Holidays), an essential car allowance, overtime, on call and unsociable hours allowances, access to Boost employee discounts and the Blue Light Card, and free onsite parking.
We also appreciate the importance of work life balance and welfare which is why we offer a great supportive working environment with access to an Employee Assistance Package, flexi-time within core hours, childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme, eyecare scheme and maternity/parental leave schemes.
