Could you be part of developing the force’s capabilities for the future through cloud-based technologies?

At Derbyshire Constabulary, we’re committed to delivering an excellent public service and consistently improving our organisation to benefit the public. Our Information Services department is vital to ensure the force achieves digital excellence by continually delivering and optimising solutions.

In line with these aims and following our recent investment in Microsoft 365 products, we are looking for an experienced Cloud Developer to join us on a full time, permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your existing experience to deliver innovative solutions into the force and to mentor others, developing their expertise in this field.

Using your experience of working with leading cloud solutions, such as Sharepoint Online, Azure and programming and scripting languages, such as C# and Powershell, you will develop and build bespoke solutions to meet business requirements and user needs, adding value and efficiencies to our organisation.

We know that to protect and support our communities effectively we need to keep up-to-date with new approaches, processes and technologies. You will drive change by using your in-depth, technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, as well as identifying and recommending new technology platforms we could utilise, allowing us to continually improve our services and deliver further automation within existing business processes.

Security will also be high on your agenda as you engineer solutions while mitigating against any potential threats, providing services with security controls embedded.

We are passionate about your development; a career grade scheme is therefore in place to support progression within this role. The initial salary/grade offered will be dependent on qualification level and experience upon appointment.

We want our staff to feel valued and rewarded, which is why we offer a generous rewards and benefit scheme with competitive government workplace pensions, free onsite parking and extensive discounts at a range of businesses including access to the Blue Light Card and our ‘Boost’ employee benefits scheme.

We also appreciate the importance of work life balance and welfare, which is why we implement flexible and agile working practises, including flexi-time and remote working, and this role comes with a minimum of 26 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays) increasing after 5 years’ service.

As part of your application, you must provide both a CV and Supporting Statement, stating how you meet the essential/desirable criteria as listed in the job description. Please ensure you provide detailed evidence of your technical knowledge and experience within your application.

The initial salary/grade offered will be dependent on qualification level and experience upon appointment.

Please note that as part of MV/SC vetting requirements, you must have 5 years continuous UK residency.

Provisional date for interview: 12th July 2022
